Teacher Self-Care 101
As general awareness for mental health and the importance of self-care continues to surge within the world, more and more individuals are finding the confidence to open up and look for effective ways to handle their emotions. With this awareness for individuals, also came awareness in regards to professionals, particularly those in the often thankless professions. One of these professions in particular is teaching. Despite their actual importance and value in developing the next generation of young adults, many teachers don’t receive the respect or care they deserve. A truly tireless profession with work days that don’t end the moment they exit the classroom, as teachers will have to develop lesson plans, classroom exercises and put in extra time with troubled students who need additional care is all work that can’t be done amongst a full class of students.
